As 2 out of the 3 proposed allotment sites have footpaths that run through them, this increases the risk of vandalism or other criminality. One solution would be to put "anti-climb" netting around the parameter of the allotment (similar to that which I have done with the 2 x pony paddocks. I purchased the "police approved" netting from here: www.thefenceline.co.uk/but, cheaper and equally suitable products are available. Additionally: as posts & netting are deemed "temporary" it does not need any form of planning permission or otherwise. If metal gates and gate posts are used, these can be padlocked so ONLY the allotment tenants and associates can gain easy access. Of course, it won't stop the numpties climbing over the gates BUT provided the gates are situated off the main public footpath it might deter some of the lesser trouble-makers at least.
